Job Summary:
The Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in managing the high school sports team. This role involves assisting with training, developing athletes' skills, and promoting a positive and competitive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Coaching Activities: Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting practices, drills, and training sessions.
- Athlete Development: Help teach fundamental skills and strategies, providing individual and group instruction to athletes.
- Game Preparation: Aid in game planning, strategy development, and implementation during competitions.
- Monitoring Performance: Evaluate athletes’ performance during practices and games, providing constructive feedback to enhance their skills.
- Team Management: Assist in the recruitment and selection of team members, ensuring they meet eligibility requirements.
- Communication: Maintain communication with athletes, parents, and the Head Coach regarding team policies, schedules, and expectations.
- Administrative Duties: Help with the organization of team events, schedules, and transportation logistics for competitions.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure athletes follow safety protocols and adhere to school and league regulations.
- Community Engagement: Participate in fundraising activities and promote the program within the community.
